Highland Associates is providing comprehensive architectural, engineering and interior design services for the renovation of the four story S3 Building, located on the Summit, NJ Campus of Celgene, a Bristol Meyers Squibb company. This building will serve as the West Campus Office and Conference Center. Complete demolition of the exterior walls and interior partitions are included as part of the scope of work. The building will be re-clad with an energy efficient aluminum curtainwall system and Low-E insulated glass. The majority of the basement floor area shall be left intact with new storage rooms to be provided. The existing courtyard area was infilled on the first floor level in order to maximize space and create multiple conferencing rooms for larger gatherings.
A new 1st floor lobby was designed with a secure visitor entrance and separate, badge-activated entrance for employees, prioritizing traffic flow. The new lobby includes a security and welcome desk, which will serve as a central point of access and control for the lobby space while ensuring visitors to the building are documented and directed accordingly. The 1st floor’s primary use will be for hosting conferences and includes conference spaces equipped to accommodate 50-60 people, small group meeting areas, as well as a commercial prep kitchen and storage for onsite catering. The conference spaces are designed to be flexible and will include durable finishes to anticipate maximum use. All will be equipped with the latest AV technology including, voice, data, and power to accommodate a variety of multimedia presentations and tele- and video-conferences. The existing 2nd and 3rd floor will be fully demolished and the renovated space shall consist of open office workstations and small enclave rooms to accommodate internal meetings.
This project is currently in the Design Phase for LEED Certification.
