Highland Associates provided full architectural and engineering design services for this new 200,000-square foot manufacturing facility. The project is located on a 30-acre site that will accommodate future expansions of 500,000-square feet. Simona America, Inc. manufactures plastic sheets and extrusion molded products for use in the building specialties market. The manufacturing areas are located within a pre-engineered metal panel building with a minimum clear height of 22' at perimeter. Extensive overhead piping and equipment dictated higher roof loading capacity. A column spacing of 40'x40' with bar joist roof structure was determined to be the most economical system. Exterior wall construction consists of ground face CMU wainscot up to 8'-0" with architectural profile insulated metal panel above. The masonry wainscot is provided for protection from fork truck traffic and to accommodate the insulation of mechanical, electrical and process equipment.

The administrative area includes corporate offices, administrative space, large and small conference rooms, a lunch room, computer room, security room, telecommunications/data room and other support spaces.
